This project started as a DA then improved with a Modification plus a minor encroachment approval for the new driveway and entry steps . An extensive renovation to a large and expansive 3 level home including pool and spa refurbishment.
Perched on a steep dramatic Sydney harbour front site, this three-level concrete home was originally built outside compliance. Each level lacked both function and modern luxuries. The renovation brief and vision to embrace the vibrant energy of the family and transform this home into a refined family sanctuary embracing the existing infinity pool and breathtaking majestic views whilst considering livability, function with a pared back palette.High priority for safe and seamless access to the home.Navigating complex site constraints, including boundary setbacks and restrictions on building height required a strategic approach to council for the proposed approvals, unlocking opportunities for a larger garage and laundry with high priority on a safe front entry. Stripping back to a blank canvas, every level of this home was meticulously reimagined . Harnessing the home's inherited advantages the approach was carefully planned and focus on creating impactful moments .A curated selection of elegant natural materials in layered in vertical and textural forms.The interior balances modern family life and timeless elegance, with every space carefully considered and apparent in the detailed fitout of joinery, lighting and materials seamlessly connecting throughout.
Vertical Screening transforms the exterior of the home adding depth and character to the external scaling flat walls . Limestone grounds the home and features strongly both indoors and outdoors. The central staircase is reimagined and detailed with style featuring a 9 meter high limestone wall a central spine grounding the home scaling 3 levels .A Reconfiguring of expansive windows floods the home with natural light whilst Individual spaces are elevated and redesigned passively or dramatically connecting the spaces.Externally the brief was completed with A new cobblestone driveway , new front entry steps and surrounds laid in natural granite and cobblestone pavers .
The result: a peaceful sanctuary with effortless beauty meticulously crafted for enduring a growing family , entertaining and living beautifully. An Offering of quiet retreat for family strength , serenity and timeless luxury.
